True redaction. When you apply, every page containing a redaction is rasterised to a flat image with the black areas burned in — the underlying text, vectors and hidden content are permanently destroyed and cannot be copied or recovered. The output is rebuilt as a fresh PDF, dropping the original's metadata, XMP, attachments, scripts and document info. Pages with no redactions are copied through unchanged (their text stays selectable), with annotations stripped.
